Quilts of Valor Across America Road Trip

The Quilts of Valor truck was in Warrenton on Wednesday. Here are a few of the photos I took. You can follow their road trip to Camp Lejeune here.

Quilts of Valor Across America is a journey to collect quilts from across the country – their destination Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for the wounded Marines and Navy Corpsmen of Company 3/8 returning from Afghanistan. A group will leave Valley Springs, California with pick up destinations in Salt Lake City, Denver, Lincoln, Kansas City , Warrenton, St. Louis (just added) and Knoxville Tennessee. By June 12, 2009, these beautiful handcrafted quilts will reach Camp Lejeune and the deserving men and women of our armed forces.

If you are a quilter visit the QOV website to learn how you can help.
The mission of the QOV Foundation is to cover ALL war wounded and injured servicemembers and veterans from the War on Terror whether physical or psychological wounds with Wartime quilts called Quilts of Valor (QOVS). Or as a six year old put it, "When the 'sholders' are 'warring' and they come home and are hurt, the quilt makes them feel all comfy." This foundation is not about politics. It's about people.

Jackie,
What beautiful photos! Would it be alright with you if I added these to the QOV Across America blog?

Also, if you haven't heard, the van has hit a 'road block' so to speak at Camp Lejeune and they need your help. Check the blog for more details
