Modern Crazy Piecing

Back in July I took a class with Jacquie Gering of Tallgrass Prairie Studio The class was great! If you get the opportunity to take a class with her I would highly recommend it.   I can't believe I haven't posted anything about it yet.  The class I took was the three hour modern crazy piecing.
This is what I have so far.
9 modern crazy pieced centers with one ring of the log cabin.

One,

Two,

Three completed blocks!

These blocks are huge 18" x 24". Six more blocks to go and I hope to have a quilt top like this One.. You need to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the quilt Blue Ice.

New fabric

A few fabrics I picked up at lunch time today.

I think I am going to like the new bee I joined it is called Sew Bee It. Marie requested tone on tone fabrics for her block this month. Honest I looked but couldn't find any fabrics in my stash that I thought would work, I had to buy some more.

Key Lime Bali Pops & 1895 Gardenia

Getting ready to start a quilt with Key Lime Bali Pop & 1895 Gardenia (one of my favorite Hoffman batiks).

Three strips sewn together. Ready to do some pressing.

All pressed and ready to cut into 2 1/2" sections.

All cut and ready to make some nine patches.

Yesterday was a pretty productive snow day at my house! Columbia, MO had another 8" of snow and we had about 2" of slush so no going to work for me.
