Coin quilt

I made a little progress on the coin quilt. I have all the inside coins sewn together and I ready to work on the border. I'm thinking I need a smaller border and maybe a second border with one of the colored fabrics in the coins. What do you think? I'm going to go to the quilt store and see if they have yardage of this fabric.

How about a stop border from one of your coin fabrics Jackie? I think that always sets off a quilt, frames it. Otherwise there is a lot of white in this quilt & the coins may get overwhelmed.I did that on my BQ mystery & it helped balance all the red. I usually make my stop borders 1" finished on lap size & larger.

i think i might add a bit more color too. is it difficult keeping all those coins nice and straight like you did? that's what makes me nervous about trying this.

I echo the comments about some colour in the border. Love the colours.

If you don't find yardage, piano keys or pieced squares from leftovers from the coins would look good too.

I like the coin quilt! I will just add one border in color. Your machine quilting is just beautiful.
