Color?

Mischele asked what color was the truest on this quilt. I placed a piece of white muslin on the right hand side so you could see how white it shows up on your monitor. If you look close you can see some ugly fabrics in here but when you cut them into 1 1/2" pieces they don't look so bad.

The random value placement of the medium/medium lights in the nine patches really take this right "uptown", and make the viewer's eye bounce all around the surface of the quilt top.

I want to make one of these Carolina quilts....and I'm going to Asheville, NC today with some quilting buddies to hit some shops. What better place to look for fabric for a Carolina quilt than in North Carolina?

Think I'll work in creams for the lights and reen and burgundies for the rail and star units.

Jackie, your top is lovely. Thanks for the additional photo.

I think that looks great! I have the pattern for this and can't wait to get started. I love the colors in your quilt, and I don't see any "ugly" fabrics.
