Project Improv - completed blocks

I have 10 blocks completed. I will be starting my blue and green blocks next week.

Paper pieced star

This is a customers wall hanging. I always take a picture of the quilt and doodle on it until I come up with a design for the top to show the customer.

This is the design I came up with for this top and the customer liked it. She wanted a little more quilting in the center star so if you look closely at the center I added some more swirls to the finished top (if you click on the picture it should enlarge for you).

Receiving Quilt?

I made this small quilt the same way as I did the receiving blankets I just added batting and a quick stipple for quilting. Super quick quilt. The bright Pink is Minkee so the quilt is very soft.

Project Improv - Blocks

I started my test blocks. I have two completed and the others as you can see are in the works on the design board. I'm calling these my test blocks since I didn't use the fabrics I bought. This fabric came from stash left over from some bags I made. I love these fabrics and I think I really like the blocks so far too. I'm planning on making a baby quilt for my project. What are you planning for your project?

Project Improv - Colors

I have a start on my fabric selections. Yeah!! I went with the blue and green blocks. What do you think? I am going to have to make a trip to the quilt store to get some solids to go with these. Don't you just hate it when that happens? Unlike some of you (probable must of you) I don't have a huge stash to pick from but I'm working on correcting that situation. Do you have your fabrics picked yet?
