Dresden plate template and MQS

I have been playing with my new Dresden plate template that I bought at MQS over the weekend. I saw this tutorial at Loft Creations. The tutorial was using 2 1/2" strips and I have all of the striped strips from a jelly roll that I didn't use in this quilt so I thought I would give it a try. Not sure what these will end up being. I looked at Jo-Ann's but ours didn't carry the template. Amy has a pin cushion on her blog over at Park City Girl if you want to check it out. I also bought the Quilt EZ swirls templete. No picture since they will be mailing them to me. I think I may use this on the Sunflower quilt.

New Bali Pops are coming!

I just saw the new Bali Pops over at Batiks Plus Blog. I love them all but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the green tea collection!

Project Improv - Quilted!

I finally have my Project Improv quilt quilted. I quiled it with a simple meandering. The binding has been sewn to the front and it is being handstitched to the back now by a very good friend. In case you didn't know - I don't do handstitching if I can find someone else to do it for me. Close-up of one of the blocks.

Back of the quilt. I love the look of the pieced back. It is like having two quilts in one.

Circus Quilt

I got a little quilting done over the weekend. This is a Circus quilt that was pieced by a customer and quilted by me. The quilting design is called Popcorn it seemed very fitting for the quilt with yellow (butter) thread.

I'm not sure if the sun is ever going to come out for any better pictures. When I saw the sun peaking out I grabbed the quilt and rushed outside just as the sun decided to leave. Pictures where taken with the quilt laying on the ground since no one was home to help hold them up for me.
